I think it would be best if you concentrated on getting good grades in your current A-levels, then afterwards consider doing a fast track A-level(one year) in Biology or Chemistry or even both. You could always apply to do a three year BSc in science which will then(dependent on the grade you get) lead to a graduate option to study as a Veternary surgeon. I'm sorry if I am being ignorant here, but having just got off the Bristol website myself, i get the impression they want a little more than GCSE's A-C. If there truly are only 5 places, (which i haven't come across that and i hope its not true as i hope to apply sometime next year) surely it would be more competitive than 5 GCSE's A-C, surely if anything it would be more likeby Loulou15 - Veterinary Students
Having done my GCSE's and A-levels 4 and 2 years ago respectively, I never really focused my efforts on science based courses etc. Something I much regret now I have decided on a career change. With this in mind what is my best options for getting into Veterinary Medicine? Just an update, as it seems a necessity to complete a Bachelor of science, my only option is home study/distance learning as i want to finish my current degree but to also have achieved the required qualifications to enable me to get on to the Doctor of Veterinary Mediciby Loulou15 - Veterinary Students
Hi, I am currently a student of Egyptology and Ancient History at the University of Wales, Swansea. Although i love my degree topic, i find myself pulled back to my original plan of becoming a Veterinary Surgeon, or at least having a career in that area. However I am now approaching my third year of my undergraduate degree and of course it would be a waste to remove myself from it now. My partby Loulou15 - Veterinary Students
