Our cat (15 years old) seems to have a problem with claws (on a back paw) not retracting. She limps for the first few steps after getting up but seems to be OK apart from that. What treatment is the vet likely to suggest?
Hi, Neet, This is a common problem in older cats, and I know of no treatment other than to have the claws regularly trimmed back so that the sharp points do not catch in carpets and fabrics. Your vet will show you how to do this. Walter
