My 10 yr old bitch has very long claws. She won't let me clip them, in fact she freaks out when anyone goes near her feet. She had a tooth removed 6 months ago and we asked our vet to cut her claws at the same time but when we got her back they were only marginally shorter (I'm assuming because the quick is also long). I think her claws are affecting her walk and she is in some pain with them sometimes because she catches them on things.

Is it possible to take her to my vet for sedation/GA where they can be cut right back and cauterised? Is this something my vet is likely to agree to? I can't think of another solution.
