discharge from cats nose

my 16 years old cat has chronic yellow/greenish discharge from her nose. I have been to the vet twice and she was given antibiotics, but they don't seem to do any good. Everytime she sits it drips on to cushions and and I constantly wiping her nose. She is eating well and otherwise seems fine. But opens her mouth to breathe at times as her nose is blocked. She has had it now for several months. Is this a treatable condition or will she have it for the rest of her life.

Hi Kate

I fear it is likely to hang around as a chronic infection. Take her back to your vet though and dont give up on her because possibly a longer course of treatment might make a difference. You do need to bathe and keep her nose clean for her. Cats hate having a blocked up nose.
