3 or 4 A levels?

My daughter Rosie is totally confused having just returned from her open evening in preparation for 6th form. It clearly states on Edinburgh's literature that 3 A levels at grade A are required. We are fully aware of the 3 subjects needed. Rosie's head of 6th form is adamant that she will need to take a 4th , they even want to put her in for a 5th A level (additional maths). We are aware of the importance of the practical experience needed. She has a full portfolio. Can anyone advise please?

3 good A level results are better than doing more A levels and getting lower results in each because not enough time is spent on each subject.

It is usual to start the first year doing 4 A levels, and then drop one after the first year. Pick an extra one you enjoy, I took Chemistry Biology Physics and History, and then dropped History after AS Levels to take 3 A Levels
