Hi. My daughter is 11 and just started senoir school. She is very determind and has decided she wants to become a vet. She is bright and has the ability to do well. What subjects does she need to concentrate on to become a vet and what choices does she need to be taking and what exams and results ? She wants to go abroad to work on safari type vetinary work when she is qualified, dont know if this makes any difference to the subjucts she needs ?

If you live in the UK there are 6 university veterinary schools, and entrance to the veterinary course is very competitive, and probably will still be so when your daughter is old enough to start at university,
It is a science based course, and chemistry, biology and physics or maths A levels at A or a* grades are essetial if she is to be considered for a place. At O levels as wide a range as possible, inclduding the subjects mentioned above, is advisable
