Some Tips?

Hi,

My name is Elizabeth, I'm 12, and have always wanted to be a vet. I didn't start really looking into it, however, until I had just turned 12. I'm pretty sure what I want to take at GCSE and A Level, though of course it's a long way off yet.

Tomorrow I am going to speak to a veterinary surgeon and he's going to spend time asking my questions about being a vet. I would quite like to be specialise and be an equine vet though I definitely will not lack motivation for the other aspects of veterinary surgery (small animal, livestock etc.) as I'm really interested in all types of animals. I've taken horse riding lessons since I was eight and in February am going to start working there.

I live in the UK (specifically England). I've looked at all the universities that offer courses and have my eye on: Cambridge, Nottingham, Liverpool and Bristol. I know it's quite early in my life to be thinking about this, but could people who have taken part in their interviews tell me a little about how tough the different interviews are?

I'm also wondering about work experience. I know Liverpool asks for more work experience than the other universities. I'm thinking of having for work experience:
Experience with two different veterinary practices, one rural and one in the town dealing with small animals
Stables
Farm
Equine Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre

Any more ideas?

Sorry about all the questions. I've looked at the other threads on here and know that some of my questions can be answered on there but some of the questions here are a little more specific.

Thanks for your time.
