At approximately 0710 BST on August 1, 2008, our beautiful Bedlington terrier, Foggy, aged just 7, was shot with an airgun in our enclosed garden in a peaceful rural location. We know that the sharpened pellet punctured his heart. He died 20 minutes later en route to the veterinary surgery in extreme pain. A police and RSPCA investigation is now underway.

Please read, sign and circulate the petition which can be found here:

This petition aims to express the strength of public feeling about Foggy's death, not only in the immediate region but also across the UK and indeed abroad. The signatures will be submitted to the magistrates of the respective County Court in due course.

Hopefully, we can convey to the courts and the police the seriousness of what has happened and the trauma it is inflicted upon his family. Even if it only makes a tiny difference to the legal process, it will be worth it. Ultimately, this is to raise awareness of airgun crimes in the UK, which are claiming a growing number of lives each year – children, beloved pets, wild animals.

Thank you for your support.

Andrew

Prosevcute the person who shot a pet dog to the full extent of the law. Then publish the punishment widely so that other miscreants will know what will happen to them as well.
