First of all, I would like to ask for pardon for my grammar and occasional misspelling, but English is not my first language.

I'm a first year vet student in Kolozsvar (Roumania), and already did my summer practice at a private practitioner. I had seen the pro's as well some of the down sides of becoming a vet at my country and decided to look around in the world.

What are you guy's studying in the UK? What do you need to get into the university? Do you have entry-exams? How's summer practice over there? What are the pro's and contra's? Do private practitioners do everything from anesthesia to nail clipping like here? Are there any specialists for exotic animals or you do that too -learning from the internet and books because there’s no one to give you a hint on what to do?

If you, dear readers had the time to give me any info on veterinary practice, private and not and also on the universities of the UK I would really appreciate it!

A pretty confused 'newbie'

P.S.: If anyone could send a copy via e-mail or send a link where I could see a hospital release form? - I understand in the UK veterinarians can oblige the owner to re-educate or even take the animal from them?
