Discomfort After Fecal Exam?

Aloha!
My cat just got back from a vet visit about 8 hours ago, and he got his first rod fecal exam since he was a kitten, he is now 5 years old. (I used to live where the vet would come to me, so I always had fresh samples for my old vet.) He has been absolutely RESTLESS since we got home, and won't sit down for more than a few seconds at a time, and when he lies down he's now constantly repositioning like he is unable to get comfortable. I'm wondering if this is normal discomfort after a fecal exam with the rod (as this is very abnormal for him) or if I should be concerned.

Either way, in the future I think I'm going to insist on bringing samples for this new vet rather than put him through this again.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
